Erikaccha City State Lead Unit


City State: Erikaccha, Ancient Eastern Malwa, Betwa Valley (Dasharna Area).
Date: Circa 200-150 B.C.
Denomination: Lead Unit.
Metal: Lead.
Weight: 7.84 gm.
Reference: Unlisted in Pieper/MAC. 
Obverse: Bull walking to left, Ujjaini symbol, Tree in Railing and Brahmi legend Erikaccha to the top left.
Reverse: Ujjaini Symbol with Indra-Dwajha (Triangle headed standard).
P.S.: Erikaccha was a city state located in Ancient Eastern Malwa circa 200-150 B.C. in Betwa Valley in Dasharna area, very less information is known about this ancient city. The City States evolved with due fall of Mauryan Empire and is assumed that they followed democratic system of electing the head of the state. The lead units are scarce to obtain and in this condition it is exceedingly rare. This specimen is unlisted in MAC or Pieper. A similar specimen was auctioned by Classical Numismatic Gallery [Auction No. 28, Lot#24] on 12th August 2017.
